Explication Peculiarities of Personality Senses in the Process of Translation of Impersonal and Possessive Sentences (empirical research)

Abstract

The present article is devoted to the study of personality senses peculiarities explication in the course of translation of impersonal sentences with the introductory there and possessive sentences with the verb to have into Russian. The sentences are studied alongside with the prepositional constructions that have a syntactical role of some adverbial modifiers. A special research (respondents’ interview) was conducted to verify empirically the hypotheses that had been formulated before. Mathematic and statistic correlations were conducted for the confidence estimation of the distinctions between the manifestation degree of syntactic complexes personality senses analyzed in the work. On the basis of the interpretation of the translation variants, conducted by the respondents, such explication personality senses criteria as indefiniteness, lack of categoricalness, typical behavior, situational behavior and some others were distinguished. The chi square of Pearson criterion allows to make a conclusion that while the interpretation and analysis of the more typical respondents’ answers of the syntactical complexes with the prepositions constructions introduced by the preposition in, the negative impressions (estimation) are actualized more often than the other parameters (χ2=64,34, р≤0,001) and while the translation of the sentences with the prepositions constructions organized by the preposition about, the parameter of indefiniteness is represented (χ2=132,97, р≤0,001). The objective of the research – to reveal personality senses peculiarities explication in the course of translation of the syntactic complexes under study – was achieved.
