TUTKAUL LINE OF DEVELOPMENT: COMPLEXES WITH GEOMETRIC MICROLITES IN THE TERRITORY OF THE PAMIR ALAI
Abstract
This work is devoted to the distinguishing and justification of the Tutkaul development line in the Pamir-Alai territory. The authors carried out a technical typological analysis in the framework of the attribute-based approach of the materials from the Tutkaul and Obi-Kiik sites, which are key objects of the final Pleistocene - the early Holocene in the region. As a result of this analysis, the most characteristic features of these complexes have been identified: fine lamellar splitting and dominance of geometric microliths in the tool set, the shape of which changes from time to time from rectangles to segments. Comparison with the synchronous sites of the region showed analogies in the territory of the Afghan-Tajik Depression, the Gissar Range and the Pamir. Correlation analysis with the Upper Palaeolithic complexes of the Pamir-Alai and the epipaleolithic complexes of Levant and Zagros suggested attributing the chronological framework of the Tutkaul line of development within 20-9 thousand years ago and talking about its multicomponent genesis. The study made it possible to revise the chronology, genesis and logic of the development of complexes with geometric microliths in the territory of Pamir-Alai.
