The results of the work of the IV Congress of Russian Scholars of Religion

Abstract

This publication presents information on the results of the IV Congress of Russian scholars of religion, which took place on the basis of the Amur state university. The work of the congress took place at the plenary session and 6 sessions: "Sociocultural processes in the perspective of the Russian philosophical tradition", "The study of religion in the context of the civilizational approach. History of Russian religious studies — new findings and research", "Religion, science and education in the context of historical and cultural transformations", "Modern religious and ethno-religious processes as a factor of civilizational development of Russia", "Religion as a factor of dialogue and confrontation of civilizations' and "Religion in the history of civilizations". During the congress, scientists discussed various aspects of the development of religious traditions from the primitive to the present. It is noteworthy that at the present stage religious studies are increasingly showing a tendency to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of archeology, ethnography, sociology, political science and other sciences. Within the framework of the congress, the constituent assembly of Russian researchers of religion was held, as well as the scientific and educational program "Religion of Chinese civilization: history and modernity" was implemented. Reports of the congress participants are published in the journal "Religious Studies' and collections of scientific papers.
