Abstract

The article is devoted to understanding the theological and practical value potential of parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church, the prospects of mobilizing internal resources in updating the social practices of parishes. It is shown that the parishioners formed by Christian doctrines (religious values) justify the motives for participating in ministries, however, the constructive activation of their potentials is not always correlated with their motivational potential in practice, although it has prospects to become a source of the introduction of new forms of charity service.


The relevance of the study lies in the identification of contradictions between the existing value-motivational potential emanating from the foundations of Christianity and the willingness to demonstrate active social activity due to the value theological vector.


The purpose of the study is to show that religious experience, should not be limited only to visiting temples, performing rites, but can be updated and manifested in practical application.


Parishioners of the Church in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, Vladimir, are presented as the object of study. The subject of the study is a theoretical and empirical understanding of the internal potentials of parishioners (Christian values), the degree of readiness to constructively actualize and transform them in charity ministry.


The value potential has been investigated and presented in two meaningful components: structural (contains Christian values) and dynamic (influence on the motivational component, degree of readiness to be broadcast).


The goal was solved using methods of philosophical reflection (in substantiating the semantic load of Christian sources); synthesis and generalization (for the analysis of charitable activity of parishioners); quantitative and qualitative methods for information collection and processing in empirical research. A systematic approach was used (in determining the main directions, dynamics and internal resource of development).


The scientific novelty lies in the data obtained at the regional level, which make it possible to empirically substantiate the contradiction between the existing value-motivational potential, and the readiness to demonstrate Orthodox values in practice.


The results of the study may be of interest in practical application: activating parishioners in charitable ministries; for theologians when developing special courses, seminars on social service; the formation of spiritual and moral care, which contributes to the more harmonious development of social relations.
