Abstract
The interethnic and intercultural interaction of the Jurchens with other peoples in the first half of the 12th century predetermined the appearance of Confucian temples in Jin. Their widespread spread on the territory of the state occurred in the second half of the 12th century. Then, as the education system was recreated according to the Chinese model, the cult of Confucius gradually formed in the Jurchen culture. At that time, even in the remote garrisons of districts and counties, schools appeared, which represented not only a place of learning, but also a place of worship for Confucius. The exact number of temples in the Jurchen state is not known, especially in the north, but their uneven distribution is obvious. In the south of Jin, where Chinese culture was initially strong, their number was significant, which is recorded in various sources. Determining the number of temples in the northeastern territories is difficult, but the fact of their existence is not excluded. The issue of cult activities directed at Confucius within the Jurchen schools remains debatable. In the schools (temples) of the Jin state, previously captured Confucian scientists, students, and officials became teachers, who continued their Confucian path, transferring Confucian heritage to the Jin people. Such a human factor (official personnel) predetermined the success of the restoration of temples and the fact of participation of private investments in their reconstruction.
