Research on the ethnic history and traditional culture of the peoples of the Urals, who contributed to the processes of dissemination, development, and adaptation of ethnocultural complexes in the past and present, in the context of ethnic and historical-cultural ties between the Urals and other regions.


Regional features of the Russian calendar ritualism have been studied; ethnocultural complexes of local groups of Mari, Belarusians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Komi-Permyaks, Russians, Udmurts, and Roma have been examined in the context of interethnic interaction.


Issues related to the formation of ethno-dispersed groups of the peoples of the Urals and their adaptation to new natural-climatic and ethnocultural realities have been resolved.
The specifics of contemporary ethnic processes in the region and the characteristics of the implementation of national policy have been determined.
