Abstract
The article reflects the results of the international scientific-practical conference "religion in Kazakhstan and Central Asia on the Great silk road", which took place on 12-13 June 2017 in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was held at the Institute of Oriental studies and the Institute of archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan supported by the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the UNESCO cluster office and the State Museum "the Center for the rapprochement of cultures". In the work of the scientific forum was attended by scientists from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, USA, Italy. The conference presented more than 20 reports in which scientists presented the latest results on the study of diffusion proselyte religions in Central Asia in the historical retrospective. Special attention was given to recent archaeological discoveries of monuments that reflect the activities of the Nestorian, Manichaean, Buddhist missionaries in the territory of the Central Asian region. At the conference repeatedly emphasized the special role of the Great silk road as a powerful cultural repeater, including the different religious traditions.
