Abstract

The publication briefly presents information about the tenth International scientific conference “Ancient cultures of Mongolia, Baikal Siberia and Northern China”, which was held        on October 19–22, 2019 in Pekin (China). This conference has been held annually since 2010 on the basis of scientific and educational centers in Russia, Mongolia and China. In 2019 the event was organized by leading scientific and educational institutions that are associated with the study of the history of the peoples of Siberia and Central Asia: People’s University of China, Jilin University of the people’s Republic of China, Institute of archaeology of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region of China and Museum of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region of China. On the part of Russia and Mongolia, the event was also co-organized by individual academic institutions and higher education institutions. The 10th conference was attended by more than 100 scientists from Russia, Mongolia, Japan, China, and USA. A plenary and breakout session was organized at the conference. The conference was able to discuss a wide range of scientific issues related to the study of ethno-cultural processes in the Central Asian region in various historical periods. In addition, the results of the use of natural-scientific methods in archaeological research, as well as current problems of the history of the nomadic empires of Central Asia and their interaction with China were considered. In addition, excursions were organized for the forum participants to get acquainted with the monuments of  the cultural and historical heritage of China.
